Lisa at the Accidental Genealogist is running a Fearless Females blogging prompt for March womans history month.  I’ve missed a few posts and hope to catch up soon!

March 7 — Share a favorite recipe from your mother or grandmother’s kitchen. Why is this dish your favorite? If you don’t have one that’s been passed down, describe a favorite holiday or other meal you shared with your family.

Grandma Hilda Laws (nee Anderson) wasn’t one for cooking sweets, or not that I can remember.  She did make a few dishes that I really enjoyed.  One favorite was her mashed potato salad that I still make today.

Mashed Potato Salad

Fill a medium pot with potatoes, pealed and quarterer.  Bring to a boil.  When soft drain and mash.
Then add some milk and whip.
Dice 1 large onion and mix in.
Mix in enough Miracle Whip dressing until the salad is nice and creamy.
Place in the fridge until well chilled.
